deep linking on youtube

Seen on Techcrunch. Youtube users will now be able to send links that refer to a specific point in a video. Even though it’s not official as you can see on youtube’s official blog, it works. You just have to end the link with this particular syntax: “#t=1m45s”. “1″ standing for minute and “45″ for seconds. Here’s an example:

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=PHCXNt4P8Xg#t=0m54s
(watch out, Joe Theisman leg break).

On the funny side, another new feature lets you hear what you write as a comment before you post it. Curiously, the inspiration for this one may have come from this cartoon! Think twice before posting!!!

social alarm clock

sleep.fm

sleep.fm

Is social network going somewhere or anywhere? Maybe you should ask the folks (ex-execs at yahoo!, verizon, etc) at sleep.fm, a new social alarm clock network. Currently available only in beta mode and not taking any new subscribers ’til a “relaunch”, sleep.fm lets you share your alarms with friends and wake to personalize messages. There’s a video available and as I was watching it, I’m not sure if it’s a joke or if it’s for real… Wake up Mr West!!!
